Hi, I’m Shacara Rogers West.
Maybe you want to learn the basics of singing, turn a singing hobby into a professional singing career, or pick up where you’d left off years ago. Maybe you work in the corporate world and your voice is an integral part of your career success. Whatever it is, I can assist you from where you are currently. At Keys to the Vox, I apply the holistic health and wellness approach while introducing proper vocal technique to ensure optimal vocal health and lasting results.
My Approach
It all begins with the the body. As speakers and singers, our voices are a part of our bodies. If the body is unhealthy, the voice will be as well. By putting healthy things in and on our bodies, we improve the physical health of our voices. The other, equally important, part to building a healthy voice is good vocal health through the use of proper technique.
Holistic Health & Wellness
My philosophy is that the human body does its best naturally with the aid of natural elements. Vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and all of the other benefits that are found in plants, herbs, and other non-synthetic items are essential for our bodies. Many of the issues that singers find themselves having can be rectified with better health practices, lifestyle changes, and in some cases herbal remedies.
Vocal technique
I have seen many different vocal injuries that had been the result of improper vocal technique. Many singers learn to sing from simply imitating someone else, which can be detrimental in some cases. We can learn unhealthy practices without being aware of it. There is a healthy way to sing in any style of music.
